Vision Joshua Fellowship is a Catholic men's fellowship open to all men and its vision is to encourage, support and strengthen men in their Christian calling. We believe God desires that his sons `Be strong and stand firm' (Joshua 1:9). Our hope is in Jesus Christ and our primary focus is to help men into an ever deepening relationship with Jesus as Lord, Redeemer, Savior and friend. On this firm foundation, we would encourage men to "live and move and have their being" (Acts17:28) as sons of the living God, to be better men, husbands and fathers in the home, in the local community, in the parish and in the work place, sure of their identity and calling and activated into generous service.
Joshua Fellowship operates under the authority of the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese, in close co-operation with the Diocesan Service Group of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. The Bishop is asked to appoint a Chaplain to each fellowship. Joshua Fellowship has
a charismatic spirituality, believing that the Holy Spirit and all the
spiritual gifts were given by God for all time to be received and
ministered to people in healing, compassion, wisdom, faith and love. Objectives + To give glory and honor to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, particularly through praise and worship. + To provide an environment where all men can respond to what the Lord is calling them to. + To teach from Scripture and to educate men in the basic understanding of the Catholic Faith. + To allow the Lord to heal men in any area of need. + To encourage men to enter more deeply into the sacramental life of the Church. + To assist in the Formation of men as evangelisers, teachers and ministers of the Lord. + To encourage the use of the charismatic gifts in accordance with Scripture and Vatican II Document on Laity 3. + To support and assist where possible other groups in the Church, particularly Dove Women's Fellowship and youth ministries such as Life Teen and NET. + To encourage Catholic men to take their place, where appropriate, in inter-church gatherings and to support church moves in ecumenism.
